Wadawurrung Country

Wadawurrung people are the Traditional Owners of the land and waters that encompass the area from the Great Dividing Range in the North to the coast in the South, from Werribee River in the East to Aireys Inlet in the West, which includes Geelong and Ballarat.

Our family have looked after and cared for the land and waters for over a thousand generations, and are still caring for it to this very day. This is achieved by having our organisation, Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation (WTOAC), representing Traditional Owner interests at all levels of government and community.

As a Traditional Owner group, WTOAC also perform ceremonial duties such as a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremonies for community groups, coporations, events and special occassions where cultural protocols are valued and practiced.

Our aim is to educate and help as many people as possible to protect and share the respect that we hold for our Country.
